Davidson, NC is a quaint, historic town just north of Charlotte. Tucked away on the shores of Lake Norman, you’ll find plenty of things to do in Davidson NC. You’ll have no problem keeping busy, regardless of what brings you here. Whether you’re in town on business and looking for a nice place to unwind at the end of the day, or rather for a romantic weekend with your sweetheart, you won’t be disappointed with all the great things our little town has to offer.

Here are just a few favorites.

1. Davidson College

The college, located in the heart of downtown Davidson, is a site all its own. It was the reason for the founding of the town and has shaped both its aesthetic and its culture. Taking a tour of the campus is a great way to learn about the town and college’s history, as well as its classically-inspired architecture. You can watch a variety of world-class collegiate performances and sporting events at very reasonable prices.

2. Lake Norman

The gorgeous Lake Norman, located just a walk away from downtown, is the largest man-made body of water in the Carolinas. It offers lovely scenery and thrilling recreation alike. Take a walk along the shore, or dine at one of the many lakeside restaurants. If you like to get out on the water bring a boat, or rent one when you get here. The lake is a favorite fishing spot for people throughout the region.

3. Ghost Walk of Davidson

The famous Davidson Ghost Walk is another great way to learn some of the town’s history, and will certainly keep any children you might be traveling with excited. You’ll learn about some of the town’s oldest structures, as well as some of the founding town members. This is one of the Davidson’s most famous attractions.

4. Summit Coffee

Whether you’re a coffee enthusiast or not, Summit Coffee is one of our great local hangouts here in Davidson. It’s worth checking out on your way to work, or for one of their evening concerts. This is a great place to mingle with the locals and see our local small town culture.

5. Brickhouse Tavern

This place is another homey, Davidson must. It will be a great place to unwind after a long day of work, or to take the family out for a tasty dinner. The Brickhouse has a great menu and 50 draft beers to choose from, ranging from your classic ales to local craft brews. Check local listings for their evening events, which always draw a great crowd.

6. Farmer’s Market

The downtown Davidson farmer’s market, which happens on Saturday mornings, is among the great things to do in Davidson NC. Selling locally grown produce as well as local meats and other great artisan products, you’ll find something for everyone here, and get a chance to meet some our talented local artisans and craftsmen.
