Many of these works have never been publicly shown in the US and have been privately owned by the Bechtler family of Switzerland.     The Museum of the New South is unlike any other in Charlotte, NC. This museum features the nation’s most comprehensive interpretation of post-Civil War Southern history. Like most museums, the exhibits are in constant rotation. Currently, you can enjoy the Cotton Fields to Skyscrapers exhibit, which features more than 1,000 artifacts, images, video clips, music, and oral histories. The museum has also partnered with the Music Maker Relief Foundation to put on the We Are the Music Makers exhibit. In this exhibit, you can find photographs and stories of little known Southern musicians and Southern music culture.
