4 of the Best Charlotte NC Events You Need to Attend

No matter what time of year you visit, there are lots of Charlotte NC events to keep you entertained.  Charlotte has something for all members of the family during all seasons.  Check out our list of 4 of the best Charlotte NC events you need to attend.

Every 2 years, Charlotte hosts the Charlotte Wine and Food Weekend.  It has been ranked by Forbes Travel Guide among the top 5 in the United States.  Since 1989, the Charlotte Wine and Food Weekend has been benefiting local charities in the community.  The Wine and Food Weekend was celebrated this past April at venues around town including Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse and One Wells Fargo Center.

Each June, Center City in Uptown Charlotte is home to the Taste of Charlotte.  Over 5 city blocks set the scene for this fun summertime culinary event.  Not only do local restaurants participate, but food trucks and cafés are on hand to sample their delicious bites.  This year’s Taste of Charlotte will be held June 10th through the 12th and is free to attend.  Coins can be purchased at the event to be used to sample food and beverages or for kid’s activities.

Heading into the fall season, be sure to pencil in the Festival in the Park held every September.  Freedom Park is home to this family friendly event that brings in over 100,000 attendees.  Festival in the Park has been a fun Charlotte NC event since its debut in 1964.  The atmosphere is fun and carefree with food vendors, live entertainment, and the Kings Drive Art Walk.  Be sure to stop by the Family Fun Zone located at the Freedom Park Locomotive.  A few of the activities to look forward to in the Fun Zone include a Merry Go Round, train rides, inflatables, and a Ferris wheel.

Known as one of the largest holiday lights displays in the United States, Speedway Christmas is a must during the holidays.  Speedway Christmas is held at the Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord.  With more than 3 million lights, the scenic drive is a feast for the eyes.  In addition to the holiday lights, visitors are encouraged to get out and explore the Christmas Village.  Inside you’ll find a replica setting of the town of Bethlehem, horse-drawn carriage rides, shopping, food, music and visits with Santa Claus.  Admission to this fun event is $15 to $20 per car and includes entrance to the Christmas Village.
