Here’s Why You Need to Visit Fisher Farm Park

Looking for a new park to visit for your morning run or afternoon bike ride? Fisher Farm Park is a 200-acre park home to some of the best trails in the area. Whether you choose to walk, run or bike, Fisher Farm Park is a great place to get in a good workout. Because the park is close to the downtown area and also just 4 miles from us here at Davidson Village Inn, you will definitely want to visit the park again and again. Fisher Farm Park has something for almost everyone. Since there is varied terrains, paved paths, and grassy areas all skill levels are welcome. Fisher Farm Park is also perfect for simply enjoying a picnic and getting some fresh air.

Here are 3 reasons we think you’ll love visiting Fisher Farm Park.

  1. Biking, hiking, and playing! First of all, the 4 miles of trails at Fisher Farm Park range from beginner to advanced, with varying terrain for those looking for a challenge. You will find a beginner loop, 3 intermediate loops and 4 advanced loops all marked with colored signs. The trails close for 24 hours after a heavy rainfall for the safety of all visitors. Especially relevant, the trails are all maintained by the Tarheel Trailblazers Mountain Bike Club. One of the park’s most well-known trails is the Fisher Farm Full Loop. The trail winds for 4.3 miles through the park. Because the trail offers bikers hills and turns along the way, it is a fun but challenging ride.
  1. Enjoy a piece of sunshine in the park’s grassy area. You don’t have to love running or biking to enjoy Fisher Farm Park. Grab food to go from one Davidson’s many local restaurants and head to the park for a picnic. Dogs are also welcome at Fisher Farm Park so don’t forget to bring them along too! Baggies and trash cans can be found along the paths to assist in the cleanup of dog waste.
  1. There are a few events held each year at Fisher Farm Park! This fall, Fisher Farm Park will host a Stargazing event sponsored by World of Wonder. This popular event will take place on October 28th at 7:30 pm. In addition to Stargazing, another popular event is happening this summer. The annual XTERRA trail run is a series of races, a 5.2-mile, and a 10-mile trail run. The event will happen on Sunday, August 20th. Participants can register online!
